Vita

Robert Lohr was born in Luxembourg City in1953. He received his first bassoon lessons at the age of thirteen under the supervision of H. Aloyse Reiter at the Luxembourg School of Music (Conservatorium). After having finished his degree in Luxembourg, he studied at the local Academy of Music in Saarbrücken, Germany, where he attended courses directed by Prof. Alfred Rinderspracher and H. Jürgen Gode. His course of studies was later completed at Maastricht College of Music (Netherlands) under H. Adrie Bisschop.

Robert Lohr followed a career as a solo- bassoonist for the Luxembourg Military Symphonic Band from 1971 to 2000.

In 1993 Robert accepted a teaching position at the Luxembourg School of Music in Ettelbruck in order to assume the same position in Esch, Luxembourg, in 1996. Then the direction of bassoon classes at the Luxembourg School of Music in Luxembourg City was conferred on him in 1998.
